How long have you been at JU?

Pollus 1

While reading Little Whip's forum post on manipulating points, I thought of a question I'm really curious about the answer to.

How long have you been here everyone, and have you ever looked to blog elsewhere?

For me, I've been here since 9/30/2003 12:11:02 AM and have never looked for another place to be.

Does loyalty count for anything anywhere? Even here?

Your thoughts, please. I'll be bumping this if necessary because A) when I write, most JUs are sleeping, and B) I want to know. (Don't worry...points from this article will maybe cause me to break into the Top 200 list)

Nice seeing it all in one place, though, neh? C'mon folks. Unless you're #201 on JU, your 5 points shan't make me a threat. Just how big IS this "community" I keep hearing about? Weigh in....what's your JU birthday?

I had my 1st year anniversary yesterday, the 1st of August. I do blog at two other sites, one is for just me as I won't share
what's on it. The other site I blog at can be accessed at my blog here. WooHooooo

Hi - 12/29/03. - I am on here a lot sometimes and then take a break when I feel like I get sucked in too much. Though I must admit that sometimes I feel like I know the people on here and they know me better than a lot of my "real world" friends and family. I haven't looked anywhere else.

Depends on what you mean by "here". I came to JoeUser fairly late (03), but I have been around the roots of it for a long time. Before JU, most of us took our our frustrations on each other on the Wincustomize message board. Before that it was skinz.org, back to about 1999 for me.

I'm like 217 on Stardock, I don't know what I am at Deviantart, but I joined in the first few hours. JU has a life of its own, but many of us migrated here from a community of malcontents that had been around a while previous. It just took longer for me to wander over for some reason.

12/24/2003- I've tried various other blog sites, but this is the only one I'm ever truly faithful too, although, my lj is accessed quite a bit. That one is more local: I've got friends from work and town that post there.

a community of malcontents

do they have senior housing? sounds like exactly the kinda place where i might enjoy spending my final years.

I have been here since 11/9/03. I have never looked anywhere else. I barely have time to keep up on what's going on around here

Big bump for those that haven't weighed in. I know our "community" is more than 15 people, right? Right?

Valentine's Day, 2004.

This was supposed to be a knitting blog.....it turned into something else entirely. Yes, I have looked elsewhere, but I have yet to find anywhere as enticing as JU....so I stay here, regardless.

6/22/04...It was started as a project for my philosophy class. After that was said and done, I kept it going thinking I would archive my life during student teaching. I got engaged and the topics just kind of spun out from there....

(btw I got an A in philosophy thanks to this site!)

I tried blogging in a few different places, including JU. JU took a lot of getting used to, at first, but I can't imagine blogging anywhere else, now. I've been here a few months.

I've been here a year. I had a friend visiting last summer and she blogs occasionally on JU (she was introduced to JU by her sister). She encouraged me to try it and helped me set up my account. I was terrified to write anything and really intimidated, but it didn't take long for me to get really sucked in to it.

Actually, that is a Stardock.net ID date.  Mine (for this nick...I also have the legacy "JavaBrain" around somewhere out there) is: 3/30/2001 (which obviously pre-dates JU).

I've been here since before it was made public. And, Brad was here when it was still his private blog
